World and Olympic 800m champion David Rudisha will not defend his title at the World Championships in London next week.
Rudisha, who also holds the record over this distance, announced this development on his Twitter account on Monday.
He attributed his withdrawal to injury, in a development that heavily impacts on Kenya’s chances of winning gold over the distance.
